Arbaein walk
This year, my wife and I joined the Arbaeen walk from the shrine of Lady Masoumeh to Jamkaran Mosque, to keep alive the memory of Imam Hussein, who never accepted oppression and was martyred for the sake of justice.
During the Arbaeen walk, people showed selflessness toward one another — offering free food, giving free haircuts, polishing shoes — unlike in the West, where people are taught to put their own pleasure first.
In the Shia tradition, we learn that real joy comes from sacrifice and helping others. We believe that all human beings are friends and brothers
