# The True Awaiters of Imam Mahdi (AJ): Beacons of Hope in Darkness

## Introduction: Longing for the Savior

Our hearts are filled with longing—longing to meet the Beloved, longing for the arrival of the Savior, longing for the promised day. As Shia Muslims, we not only believe in Imam Mahdi (AJ) but eagerly await his reappearance every moment. But have we ever asked ourselves: What are the qualities of a true awaiter? Can we honestly claim, "We are awaiting Imam Mahdi"?

Awaiting is not just a claim—it is a way of life. True awaiters are like shining lamps in the darkness, preparing the path for his arrival. This article explores the heart of those who truly wait—those who are fully ready for his reappearance.

## 1. Unshakable Faith: The Foundation of Waiting

A true believer has strong and firm faith in Imam Mahdi (AJ). They do not just believe with words but with their heart and soul that the Proof of Allah is alive on Earth and may reappear at any moment.

A famous hadith says:

> *"Whoever dies while awaiting the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (AJ) is like one who was in his army."* (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 52, Pg. 126)

This faith keeps them hopeful, no matter how long the wait. True awaiters stand firm like unshakable mountains against life’s storms.

## 2. Love & Yearning: The Burning Hearts

A true awaiter is a lover—a lover of their Imam. Every morning, they wake up wishing, "Today could be the day of reappearance!" In Du'a al-Nudba, we cry:

> *"Where is the honor of the believers? Where is the humiliator of the oppressors?..."*

These words come from the depths of hearts on fire with love. A true awaiter feels Imam Mahdi’s presence as if he is always near.

## 3. Good Deeds: The Weapon of the Awaiters

Waiting is not just a feeling—it is action. Imam Sadiq (AS) said:

> *"Whoever wishes to be among the companions of Imam Mahdi (AJ) must await him while practicing piety and good manners."* (Al-Ghayba, Nu’mani)

A true awaiter improves themselves to be worthy of their Imam. They avoid lies, backbiting, and injustice while constantly doing good.

---

## 4. Fighting Injustice: The Call for Justice

A true awaiter does not stay silent. They stand against oppression, no matter how small. Imam Ali (AS) said:

> *"If the whole world oppresses me, I will never abandon the truth."*

True awaiters are the voice of the oppressed—in their homes, workplaces, and society—always striving for justice.

---

## 5. Prayer & Supplication: Constant Connection

Dua (supplication) is the believer’s weapon. True awaiters connect with their Imam daily through prayers like:

- Du’a al-Ahd (*O Allah, make me among his helpers...*)

- Du’a al-Faraj (*O Allah, hasten his reappearance*)

- Ziyarat Ale Yasin

These are not just words—they are rays of hope lighting up our hearts.

## 6. Always Prepared: Like a Soldier on Duty

A true awaiter is always ready—like a soldier waiting for their commander’s call. Imam Mahdi (AJ) said in a holy message:

> *"Await the relief (Faraj) and know that the best prayer is for the hastening of relief."*

This means we must stay in a state of readiness, as if Imam Mahdi (AJ) could reappear tomorrow.

---

## 7. Spreading Awareness: Guiding Others

True awaiters are callers to truth. They do not stay silent—they teach others about Imam Mahdi (AJ) through their words and actions.

---
