In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Friends, I want to talk to you about one of the miracles in the history of Islam, which is the event of the Prophet's Ascension (Miraj).
Miraj refers to the night journey of the Prophet from Mecca to Jerusalem and from there to the heavens, where he met the Merciful Lord. This is an event that is very astonishing and exciting for the listeners.
I will narrate this story from the perspective of the Prophet to make it complete and clear.
The Prophet said, "Before the Hijra, one night, Gabriel came to me and said, 'O Muhammad, be prepared, for you must embark on a journey.' He had brought with him a very beautiful and swift steed. I mounted the steed next to the Kaaba, and together with Gabriel, we set off towards Jerusalem. Although the distance from Mecca to Jerusalem is great and it usually takes days to reach there, we arrived in less than a few minutes.
Gabriel then told me, 'From here, we will ascend through the seven heavens to reach the presence of the Almighty God.' And thus, the heavenly journey began.
Miraj is one of the miracles that occurred for the Prophet of Islam, and it cannot be comprehended by human intellect unless one has complete faith and belief in God."
But when the Prophet arrived in Jerusalem, thousands of angels came to welcome him and took him to the first heaven. There, the Prophet met and conversed with previous prophets, such as Moses, Jesus, Joseph, Idris, and Adam.
They reached a point where an angry angel was present. He asked Gabriel, "Who is he?" Gabriel replied, "He is the guardian of Hell. Do you want to see the inhabitants of Hell?" He then told the angel to open the door of Hell, which shocked the Prophet.
He saw men being burned by fire and suffering. He asked, "Why are they doing this?" Gabriel said, "They consumed the wealth of orphans in the world and oppressed the orphans."
Then he saw the guardians of Hell tearing apart women with scissors. Gabriel explained, "These were women who adorned themselves for strange men and betrayed their husbands."
They also saw people whose lips were like those of camels, and the flesh of their sides was hanging from their tongues. Gabriel said, "These are the ones who mock others."
There were also people who could not move due to their obesity and were in torment. Gabriel said, "These are the ones who
engaged in usury."
Usury means lending money to people and taking back several times more.
The Prophet said, "Please close the door of Hell."
Then the Prophet, at another stage, drank from the river of Al-Kawthar and washed himself in the river of mercy before entering Paradise. The houses were large and adorned with rubies and emeralds, and there were trees bearing all kinds of fruits, with people enjoying them.
Gabriel said, "These are the people who fasted in the world, were kind to others, and served humanity. This is their place in Paradise and its blessings. They will converse with God in peace, security, light, and mercy."
Then they reached the final stage. Gabriel said, "O Muhammad, now you will go to meet God, and I cannot accompany you any further. If I do, my wings will burn."
The Prophet, filled with light and mercy, went alone to meet God and conversed with his Lord.

God said to the Prophet, "O Ahmad, I have created Paradise for those who trust and believe in Me. They always remember Me, and I remember them and watch over them. O Ahmad, the noblest of people in My sight are those who are kind to others and serve humanity, preferring the Hereafter over this world.
The wisest of people are those who do not overeat, for when the stomach is full, one becomes heedless of God. A person of honor lives without speaking nonsense and remains mostly silent.
O Ahmad, whoever is content with what I have given him, I will teach him gratitude and provide him with many blessings. A servant who loves Me, I will love him back and show him the truth in a way that others cannot see.
And God taught the Prophet the five daily prayers and made it obligatory for Muslims to pray at dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night, to remember God.
God then showed the Prophet his successors up to the twelfth Imam, saying, "The twelfth of them will fill the world with justice and goodness."
Then the Prophet returned from the presence of God, descended through the seven heavens again, and Gabriel brought him to Jerusalem and from there to Mecca, while the Prophet had left at night, and when he returned, it was still not morning.
This itself is a miracle that occurred in time for the Prophet.
The next day, the Prophet spoke among the people of Mecca. Some who had become Muslims accepted his words and the words of his Lord, but others mocked him and said, "There are people here who have seen Jerusalem. If you have been to Jerusalem, tell us about the features of its buildings. If you do, we will believe you."
The Prophet described all the features of Jerusalem, and those who were there confirmed his words. The Prophet then said, "On my way back, there was a caravan that will enter Mecca after a while." Some people went to the city gate to prove the Prophet's lie, and they saw the caravan entering Mecca, which led many more to believe.
