"In the heart of history, in the year 5 AH, in the land of Medina, where faith and hope shone in the hearts of the Muslims, a shadow of threat loomed over this sacred city. The Quraysh, with deep-seated hatred and a large army, decided to attack Medina and besiege it, aiming to annihilate the Muslims. In these critical moments, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions had to make a fateful decision. Could they withstand this great threat with unity and faith?
Join me as I narrate the story of the third battle between the Muslims and the Quraysh.
The leaders of the Quraysh harbored a grudge against the Muslims, which made them increasingly furious each day until they decided to attack Medina and lay siege to it, intending to destroy the Muslims. The Prophet became aware of their decision and held a consultation meeting with the Muslims on how to protect Medina. Each person offered their opinion, and Salman al-Farsi, who was Persian, suggested that in times of war, we would dig around the city to prevent the enemies from entering. If we could dig around the city, we could stop the enemies from entering.
Everyone agreed with Salman’s suggestion, and it was decided to create a trench around the city. The emigrants and the helpers worked together to dig the trench around Medina. Some Muslims worked hard, while some hypocrites abandoned the digging and went home, which led to verses being revealed from God regarding them. I have explained the meaning of hypocrites in the previous video."
"While digging the trench, the Muslims encountered a large rock that they could not break, so they sought help from the Prophet. The Prophet came and struck it three times, breaking it. Each time he struck the rock, sparks flew, and the Prophet said, 'I see the conquest of Persia, Syria, and Yemen,' which some of the hypocrites mocked him for. Indeed, on the path of truth, there will always be those who mock you.
After digging the trench, the Muslims prepared to defend Medina, while the Quraysh army had ten thousand soldiers, and the Muslims only had three thousand. When the Quraysh army reached Medina and saw the trenches, they were astonished at this tactic they were facing. They stood behind the trenches and could not advance.
Among the enemy's ranks was a brave commander named Amr, who managed to leap over the trench on horseback and approached the Muslims. When he arrived, he challenged them, saying, 'I seek a man of honor among you to come and fight me.' He was very strong and powerful, and the Muslims were quite frightened. However, Imam Ali declared his readiness to fight. The Prophet, knowing that Ali was his successor and fearing for his life, did not allow him to enter the battlefield and asked him to wait for other Muslims to engage Amr. Yet, the Muslims remained silent out of fear, and Imam Ali declared his readiness once again.
This happened a third time, and finally, the Prophet agreed for Imam Ali to enter the battlefield. The Prophet stood up, gave his turban and sword to Ali, and sent him off to battle."
"Before the battle began, Imam Ali invited Amr to embrace Islam, the true religion, and accept it so that they would not have to fight. However, Amr mocked him, saying that he was speaking these words out of fear of fighting. Then the battle between Amr and Imam Ali commenced, with the Quraysh army and the Muslims watching the fight with anxious eyes.
In the end, Imam Ali succeeded in defeating Amr and killing him, which brought joy to the Muslims. They gained a lot of motivation and morale from this victory. When Imam Ali returned to the Muslims with pride and triumph, the Prophet said, 'Today, all of Islam has triumphed over all disbelief.'
The Battle of the Trench continued until a man named Nu'aym, who had secretly converted to Islam while being part of the Quraysh army, created discord among the leaders of the Quraysh, causing disputes and disagreements among them. The battle had been ongoing for two weeks, and the Prophet prayed in the mosque for God to assist them. That very night, a severe storm arose, setting the tents of the Quraysh on fire and leaving them disoriented. They could no longer continue the fight and felt a deep sense of defeat, which led them to regret and return to Mecca. Thus, the Muslims emerged victorious in this battle.
Dear friends, in the upcoming videos, I will tell you about one of the significant battles and the extraordinary events that took place in it."
