I want to tell you a fascinating story about a prophecy from a Christian scholar. In a previous article, I also shared some prophecies from Christian and Jewish scholars.

In this part, I’d like to talk about the encounter between Bahira, a Christian monk, and the young Prophet Muhammad. Bahira met him during his adolescence and foretold his prophethood.

When the Prophet was 12 years old and living with his uncle Abu Talib, one day Abu Talib decided to travel to Syria for trade and took Muhammad with him. A trading group set out from Mecca towards Syria, and during this journey, they experienced a lot of blessings. A sick man was healed thanks to Muhammad's care, and while they were traveling under the sun, a cloud would come and provide shade over them. As the trading group approached Syria, they stopped for a rest. Bahira, a Christian scholar, was watching the trading group from the top of a church and noticed the cloud accompanying them. He thought to himself that there must be a great and special person in this group, as God had bestowed a blessing upon them. He decided that when they arrived, he would invite them to a feast and find that person.

When the trading group arrived in the village, Bahira invited them for dinner, and the group entered the church, placing Muhammad next to the goods. Once inside, Bahira realized that the person he was looking for was not among them. He asked if anyone was left outside, and they replied that there was a young boy named Muhammad whom they had placed next to the goods. Bahira said, "Please bring him to me."

After Bahira saw Muhammad, he took him aside after dinner and said, "I swear by the idols of the Kaaba, answer my questions." Muhammad replied, "They are the most despised things to me." Then Bahira said, "I swear by the one God, answer my questions." Muhammad said, "Ask me whatever you wish."

Bahira asked Muhammad many questions, and then he noticed the mark between his shoulder blades, known as the mark of prophethood. He called Abu Talib, saying, "You are his father." Abu Talib replied, "No, his father is dead; I am his uncle and have taken care of him."

Bahira said, "Take care of Muhammad, for he will become great in the future. The mark between his shoulder blades and all the signs I inquired about indicate his future prophethood."

"And all of his signs are mentioned in the Gospel. Protect him greatly, for if the Jews see these signs in him, they will surely kill him." Abu Talib heard these words, left the trading group, and returned Muhammad to Mecca. As long as he lived, he was always a supporter of Muhammad.
