Shiism: A Bird with the Crimson Wing of Ashura and the Green Wing of Mahdaviat

The Shiite faith is like a bird soaring through the skies of faith and history, powered by two mighty wings. One wing is crimson—dyed in the blood of Karbala’s martyrs, symbolizing resistance and struggle for truth. The other wing is green—radiating hope for a bright future and the advent of the Savior of humanity, Imam Mahdi (aj). And the body of this bird is Guardianship of the Jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih), which steers its flight and shields it from the abyss of misguidance.

### The Crimson Wing: Ashura, Resistance, and Struggle

The crimson hue of this wing embodies the pure blood of Hussain ibn Ali (as) and his loyal companions, spilled on the sands of Karbala. This blood is not merely a historical event but a living, flowing force in the spirit of Shiism. From Ashura, Shiites learn never to remain silent in the face of oppression and to defend truth at all costs.

- Ashura, the Model of Defying Tyranny: Imam Hussain’s (as) uprising proved that even in the direst circumstances, one must stand against injustice. Today, Shiites worldwide—from Palestine to Yemen—follow this example.

- Martyrdom is Honor: Ashura teaches that a dignified death is superior to a life of humiliation—a principle echoed in popular resistance movements against the enemies of Islam.

- Loyalty Until the Last Breath: The companions of Imam Hussain (as) demonstrated that true Shiism means unwavering allegiance to divine leadership, even unto death.

### The Green Wing: Hope for the Advent and a Radiant Future

The green of this wing symbolizes hope and anticipation for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (aj). Shiites believe that one day, the world will be cleansed of oppression, and the global savior will emerge. This hope gives meaning to their struggles and keeps them steadfast through the darkest times.

- Awaiting Deliverance is an Active Pursuit: Shiites are not passive waiters; they strive to prepare the ground for justice by combating corruption, promoting divine teachings, and building a righteous society.

- Hope in the Bleakest Hours: Even when enemies assume Shiism is defeated, the hope in Mahdi’s (aj) advent shines like an unquenchable light.

- Unity Through Mahdaviat: Belief in Imam Mahdi (aj) bonds Shiites across the world, inspiring them to stand firm on the path of truth.

### The Body: Wilayat al-Faqih, the Axis of Unity and Movement

The body of this bird is Wilayat al-Faqih, which connects the two wings and directs the flight of Shiism. Just as a bird cannot fly without a body, Shiism cannot progress without the guidance of the Jurist.

- Wilayat al-Faqih, the Continuation of the Imams’ Leadership: Just as the Imams (as) guided the Ummah, in the era of occultation, just and knowledgeable jurists safeguard the faith and lead the community.

- Preserving Unity: The Guardianship of the Jurist prevents fragmentation and unites Shiites under a single banner.

- Countering Deviations: In every era, enemies attempt to mislead Shiites through doubt, but Wilayat al-Faqih stands as an unshakable fortress against these plots.

### Conclusion: The Shiite Bird That Never Falls

With its crimson wing of Ashura, green wing of Mahdaviat, and body of Wilayat al-Faqih, Shiism is a bird that will never crash, no matter how fierce the storm. This bird draws strength from the blood of martyrs, advances with hope for the future, and under the leadership of the Jurist, soars toward the lofty ideals of Islam.

*"Those who yearn for struggle and sacrifice heed the call of Karbala."*

*"The hopeful awaiters carry the greenest of hopes in their hearts."*

*"Wilayat al-Faqih is the ark of salvation in the turbulent sea of time.
