The Story of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) – From Childhood to the End of His Life

### 1. Childhood and the Truthful Dream

Yusuf (Joseph) was the son of Prophet Yaqub (Jacob) and a beloved child of the Israelites. He was a handsome and kind boy, and his father loved him deeply. One night, Yusuf had a dream in which eleven stars, the sun, and the moon bowed down to him. When he told his father, Yaqub (AS) recognized it as a true vision but warned Yusuf not to share it with his brothers, fearing their jealousy.

### 2. The Brothers’ Jealousy and the Well

Yusuf’s brothers envied their father’s love for him. One day, they took him to the desert and threw him into a deep well. Then, they stained his shirt with animal blood and told their father, “A wolf ate Yusuf!” Yaqub (AS) wept bitterly but never lost hope in Allah’s mercy.

### 3. Rescue from the Well and Sold into Slavery

A passing caravan found Yusuf in the well and took him to Egypt, where he was sold as a slave to the king’s minister (Al-Aziz). Impressed by Yusuf’s beauty and wisdom, Al-Aziz took him into his household. However, Al-Aziz’s wife, Zulaikha, fell in love with Yusuf and tried to seduce him. Yusuf resisted temptation and sought refuge in Allah.

### 4. False Accusation and Prison

Angered by Yusuf’s rejection, Zulaikha falsely accused him, and he was thrown into prison. There, two prisoners shared their dreams: one saw himself pressing wine, and the other saw birds eating bread from his head. Yusuf interpreted their dreams: “One will be freed and serve the king, while the other will be executed.” His interpretation came true, but Yusuf remained in prison.

### 5. Freedom and Rise to Power

Years later, the King of Egypt had a strange dream: seven thin cows devouring seven fat cows, and seven withered ears of grain swallowing seven fresh ones. No one could interpret it until the freed prisoner remembered Yusuf. Yusuf explained: “Seven years of abundance will come, followed by seven years of famine.” Amazed, the king freed Yusuf and appointed him as the minister of Egypt.

### 6. The Brothers’ Arrival and Reunion

During the famine, Yusuf’s brothers came to Egypt for food. Yusuf recognized them, but they did not recognize him. He tested them by demanding they bring their youngest brother (Benjamin). When they returned, Yusuf framed Benjamin by hiding the king’s cup in his bag. Judah (one of the brothers) offered to stay in Benjamin’s place. Seeing their remorse, Yusuf revealed his identity, and they all wept in repentance.

### 7. Reunion with Yaqub (AS) and the Dream’s Fulfillment

Yusuf forgave his brothers and asked them to bring their father to Egypt. When Yaqub (AS) arrived, Yusuf embraced him, ending years of separation. Later, his eleven brothers (the stars) and his parents (the sun and moon) bowed before him, fulfilling his childhood dream.

### 8. The End of Yusuf’s Life

Yusuf ruled Egypt with justice for many years. Before his death, he told the Israelites: “When you leave Egypt, take my bones with you.” Centuries later, Prophet Musa (Moses) carried Yusuf’s remains during the Exodus and buried them in the Holy Land.

The End.
