In the name of God,
I want to share with you the story of the childhood and adolescence of the Prophet of Islam. It will surely be interesting and astonishing for you to know that the Prophet was an orphan and grew up with a lot of pain and loneliness, becoming the refuge for all orphans.
Join me as we review this story from the life of the Prophet.
The year Muhammad was born is known as the Year of the Elephant. In that year, the enemy attacked Mecca with large elephants, intending to destroy the Kaaba. However, God sent a host of small birds to fight against them, and they carried stones in their beaks and threw them at the enemy. Because of their great numbers, the enemy was defeated despite their might, and the Kaaba was saved from destruction.
Muhammad was born in that same year, and his father's name was Abdullah, while his mother's name was Amina. Before Muhammad was born, his father Abdullah passed away during a business trip, and when Amina gave birth to Muhammad, she was still burdened by the heavy sorrow of Abdullah's death.
Amina was very happy with the birth of Muhammad, who was a reminder of Abdullah. Unfortunately, she realized that she did not have milk to feed Muhammad, so they decided to bring a woman to nurse him. Several women were brought, but Muhammad did not accept their milk until a Bedouin woman named Halima came, and Muhammad drank her milk. It was decided that Muhammad would grow up in a healthy environment and learn the eloquent Arabic language, so he went to live with Halima in a tribe outside the city, leaving Amina alone again.
Halima considered Muhammad a blessed child and said that ever since he came to their family, their sustenance had increased to the point that she could feed two children. Muhammad continued to live in the tribe with his siblings, tending to the sheep and playing with them in the desert. One day, Halima hung a stone necklace around Muhammad's neck and said that this stone would protect him.
However, Muhammad became upset and said that a stone could never protect a person, and only God can take care of humans. Halima realized that Muhammad was not an ordinary child.
Muhammad lived with Halima's family until the age of six, and then they decided to return him to his mother, Amina. Muhammad returned to his mother's embrace. He set out with her to visit his grandfather and uncles in Yathrib, but unfortunately, his mother fell ill due to the hardships of the journey and passed away, leaving Muhammad an orphan once again. For several weeks, he suffered from the grief of losing his mother and fell ill. However, his grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, took him under his care and was very attentive to the legacy of Amina and Abdullah.
When Muhammad was eight years old, his grandfather also fell ill and passed away. His uncle, Abu Talib, took him in, and he lived with his uncle's family. Together with his uncle, he went on a business trip to Syria, where a Christian monk prophesied about his prophethood and advised his uncle to take great care of him.
